Belltrees

Renovation and Extension in Dinner Plain

This 1980's chalet, in the Victorian alpine village of Dinner Plain, happens to be the 3rd of 6 houses designed by leading Australian Architect Peter McIntyre as part of a showcase for future developments in the alpine township.

Nestled amongst the snow gum forest, the design has stood the test of time in its harsh environmental surrounds and has received a respectful addition and restoration to provide modern comforts and amenity for the new owners.

Renovating Belltrees was always going to be a delicate job because we really wanted to respect the work of the original architect while updating it to work for us. Josh and his team were incredible with that, he really understood how to build beautifully from what was already there.

What we love most about the place is how quiet and right it feels now. It is exactly the calm, balanced retreat we were hoping for after a long day out in the snow. Josh truly understood the history of the house and the environment it lives in, and he delivered something even better than we imagined. - Anna
